Tried it with all 3 Delawares. Nothing

If you are on day 22, you could peck at the air cell end of the egg. Open it up that way. If the chick is alive, you'll know, and maybe this is where you can step in to help. Is it possible they got shrink wrapped?

I hope you have some that are still going strong.

Thanks you guys. I have come to the sad conclusion that the eggs died. I opened a couple Leghorns and out tumbled a blackened, infected, immature chick from both of them. Plus, they've stopped rolling.

Well I moved things around in the incubator. I took one of my chicken and my quail racks out of the incubator and I put the last three of my button eggs into a quail carton so they're in lockdown. Then I put the other 10 ( threw out 2 eggs, they're rotten

) in a small box in the corner of the 'bator w/ shelf liner on the bottom. I don't have much ( any really ) hope for my buttons to hatch.

But who knows, only time will tell.

What about you?

No... I think they died

Are you sure? Did you try candling them? Try chirping next to them and tapping again - do you have a chicken that will cluck?? I might bring her in and put her up to the incubator and make her cluck!

Thanks! I tried the tapping and clucking- no response. Tomorrow when the chickies wake up I'll bring in Flutter (the most vocal of the flock) and put her near the incubator.

Gamma...open the eggs up. See how far along they are, etc. Open from the air cell and around. If any are still alive, they could use your help. If they have all died, you can see how far their progress is/was and it may help you make changes w/ your next hatch.
