Poor fella, within minutes of being in the store he had would-be callers blowing all kinds of noises at him, even one smart-aleck kid with a duck CALL!

It started 20 years ago. My uncle had chickens so I thought I would get a "few". My 2 turned into 50. Then I got addicted to showing. Which led to more birds. Then we had a fire and lost everyone. I refused to get more and moved into the city. Now I'm back in the country and starting over. But a lot has changed in the chicken world so I'm learning everything again it seems. At first I only wanted one for a pet. I swore just one little bird would be enough. I got my roo Crinkle. And he is so sweet. I was happy. Doing just fine with my roo. Then I happened to see an add for silkies. I loved silkies in my past. So I went to get 2. I left with five fuzzy butts. I'm getting a trio of bantams this week. And I found that I can order fuzzies online!!!!! Don't have to leave my house. (lol)

The chicken addiction is a hard one to break. I don't think I can do it. I have also got my daughter and father in law addicted now. They are looking online to see which ones they want. Now I have a family of enablers and I couldn't be happier.

talk about addiction.. hatched out *39* chicks - (was 37, but found two barely alive on eggtopsy - one of those is doing great and the other one is out but weak).. and now I am taking on nine more from another byc'er. I'm meeting someone today to rehome 10 of mine but boy will I have a ton of chicks!

My young BLRW roo is happy in his new home - if only I could be so lucky to find nice roo placements all the time.

Day 20 today, 2 all ready out just laying around resting and drying off. 8 or 10 more pipped out of the total of combined 36 eggs. Just pacing back in every little bit to check progress.
