I have three barred rocks left - we'll see what happens... I wasn't sure if they were good or not so just left em in there. Most succumbed to high humidity levels and varied temps the first couple weeks of incubation. I hope I get better at this... lol. I have four guinea left in the bator but they didn't have much space in there when I candled last. We lost one the first day of lock down that had already started pipping in the turner but way too early and very weak. upon inspection, I am scared that we will have problems with the others. The humidity is high in there now, so I hope they don't have as dry of membranes as that one did... we will see I guess. uhg.
I am not sure what kind of peacocks he is giving me yet. I don't even know that HE knows. LOL He has a few and all are different and laying, stealing eggs, setting, who knows. He has had very poor hatch rate so he said I may as well give it a shot myself. I will deff post when I get them and, of course, any that pull through (and make it through the incubation of doom bahaha) ... he has a lot of cool birds. I have been offered lots of things lately but I am not set up for wintering much more than 20-30 birds.
Sure hope you have a better hatch rate this time!
If you end up wanting somemore Guinea eggs to hatch, give me a shout I have some available.
I have a friend that has been having coyote problems and might want somemore chickens, I'm going to contact her and see if I can't fix her up with a nice assorted flock. I'll be helping her, and me. I really need to cull down on somemore mutt chickens.
