Well I didn't factor in nearly 3 hours at the DMV.....

. The county court house visit was so pleasant after that...

Now that I'm home and on the couch I REALLY don't want to move and take a loooong nap

but I really need to get some stuff done.

I wish my camera took better pictures...my lavender ameracauna hen just laid THE BEST BLUE egg I have ever...and I mean EVER...witnessed! It is very close to turquoise. I may see about borrowing a friend's camera for this...it looks normal blue without the flash on my camera, and with the flash it looks white. It is cloudy/rainy outside, so I wouldn't get accurate color in natural light either.

I want to share my present!!! On top of that...my daughter and I got to witness the hen laying it! I hope this never gets old.




Also...we have a record today for duck eggs...a whopping 9 from the pen. 3 were softshelled, but they were laid none the less!

Now I need to find a buyer or two for nonfertile duck eggs......

Yes, you totaly need to go get a camera and get an egg pic..and of course a picture of the girl that layed it!

I went out and gathered a few eggs and I found one of my Lavender Guinea females in a dirt nest standing kind of weird..I walk over and see a freshly layed egg still wet in the nest..along with two other guinea eggs..I turn around and find another guinea egg over by the water! That means all 4 girls gave me an egg today! Way to go girlz!

What do duck eggs taste like? I heard they taste different. Then again I had someone tell me Guinea eggs tasted nothing like chicken eggs..can't tell the differents!
