OMG Chandra they are GORGEOUS! Jealous doesn't even come close to how I feel right now! Congratulations you lucky woman you!!!

Meagan you could totally get a few goats and put them in with your alpacas. Goats are pretty cheap and easy to raise. My feed bill for them is going to be way less than my chicken feed bill.

As Muggsy said, this is an all animal page.

I got 8 out of originally 10 Boer Bucks for weeding. They are being banded so soon enough they won't be bucks. They have been fairly cheap to feed.

Baby Hope arrived this evening! I got one semi foggy pic of her hiding behind the thermometer/hygrometer minutes after fully hatching. In the morning I'll get a good pic of her dry and fluffy and post them. She appears to be clean legged like her RIR dad. In fact, her coloring already looks like my mature RIR. Her mother is my mystery hen. Possibly a red Cochin x salmon favorrolle or a hatchery favarolles . Not sure. Can't wait to see what she looks like...at least, hope it's a she!

Thanks for all the patience with the newbie hatcher! I was afraid I was going to have to call in sick to work tomorrow so I could watch hatch tv! But she was a trooper and is now taking a much needed rest!

Yeah! Congrats on the baby!

Do you have others that need to hatch??

There is one more egg in the incubator with her, but so far no sign that it is going to hatch. I won't completely give up on it until tonight. After that little Hope will go into a brooder. I guess I need tomraid my kids stuffed animals for a friend for her. I'm hoping that I can put her with my broody who's eggs are set to hatch this weekend. She won't be quite a week older, depending on when they hatch maybe a lot less. The poor little thing is hiding behind the thermometer still! The incubating light is too bright for her!

One lonely chicken hatched?

If the broody doesn't accept her this weekend, just grab one of momma's chicks to put with her so she won't be lonely. And take some pics!!!
