I need a swap go to person BESIDES the DH. I don't like asking for permission on these things...the element of surprise is much more fun. I wish you and Allen and your enabling tendencies were closer to me!

When we got chickens it was supposed to be just 6 or less (as DH likes to remind me). When we built the second coop I told him goat were next since we already had dogs, cats, fish, and now chicks!! Question: What comes after goat??

Well here is the order I did it. Dogs, cats, fish, horse, chickens, donkey, geese, ducks, turkeys, guineas, goats. So I can't imagine what my next thing will be.

I saw some goats at the last local chicken swap and they were awfully cute...I think I need to property search more seriously...

Hi everyone, Im Shelly, and I......
I'm a new chicken addict.
It all started 3 months ago. My father in law talked to us about getting a couple for eggs. We decided on 5 each. He ended up giving us 9 'cause the place he ordered from sent him extras. So we brought home 9 baby BR's. They are now 8 weeks old. I went to the feed store today to get them some more food and other things. I walked down the food isle and what was that I see sitting next to the register counter? 2 large metal bins with the cutest darn baby chicks I ever saw. I didn't even know what kinds they were. I just knew I had to have them. I looked at hubby and said, "Do I need to beg?". He smiled and said, "nope". I told the first lady I saw, "Im gonna need a box please."

Here are my 6 new baby chicks. I grabbed one of every kind they had since I couldnt decide. They didn't know the breeds either. They said the place just sends em all kinds. Here are some pix of each one, maybe you guys can help me figure out what they are.

Nothing more fun than a guessing game! 1st chick looks like an easter egger (green legs and cheeks/muffs), 2nd chick could be a Buff Cochin, 5th chick might be a Partridge Cochin. But those are merely guesses. Post pics as they grow out!! And welcome to the club!
