Sounds like an EXCELLENT backyard flock! Love the variety! But now I need to google what the heck a Dixie Rainbow is!

I love my 2 Rouens...I got them from McMurray...they lay a gorgeous mint green egg.

I went for variety! I have these chicks coming: 1 Ideal 236, 1 Production Black, 1 Silver Penciled Hamburg, 1 Golden Lakenvelder, 1 Black SexLink, 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Delaware, 1 Barnevelder, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 11 Easter Eggers, and 10 Dixie Rainbows. For ducklings: 1 Blue Swedish, 1 Khaki Campbell, 1 Rouen, and 1 Snowy Mallard. And lastly for geese: 1 Brown African and 1 Gray Saddleback Pomeranian!

My 3 silkie chicks are SO adorable! I really should put them out in the Chicken Kindergarten (pen inside the coop) with the other chicks, but in their own cage inside the Kindergarten pen. With their own EcoGlow, feeder and waterer. But they're so adorable!

So, there are these 20 random chicks remaining from the NYD Hatch, plus these 3 silkie chicks, and what am I doing this evening? Looking at Ideal Poultry's website at chicks to order....

I have 11 random chicks from the NYD hatch left and I have 20+ eggs in the incubator for the V-day hatch and I've got a hatchery order in April. I tell ya, I'll be on TV soon enough as some sort of hoarder!

Seriously tho, going to rehome about 20 of my older hens once they molt and look pretty. Gotta make room for the newbies! =)

THere you all are. I thought everyone was in FL on vacation. (Or eaten by the Switch monster)

I don't have any chicks or any eggs. I'm sad. Maybe spring will come a little early so I can start to grow green things to take my mind off it

Just not as busy as it was before the Holiday Season (Christmas, to heck with being P.C.). Hoping it will start back up soon.

You all here are beyond evil!!! I just wanted to get a couple of chickens for eggs! Now I spend almost all weekend on this board, researching chickens!! poor DH hasn;t had a decent meal in ages! Although he has been feeding me very well! And he has now had to look at about 1000 coop plans! Evil, I say, pure evil!


*sigh* Will I ever get my girls?

At least the ducks get all of our fowl attention for now........

Egads! I have MORE chicks.. my NYD prize eggs (freeeee!) are hatching! So far I have two little ones out of blue hot2pot eggs and a pile more to go. I DO have to cut down the flock when spring comes to make room or they'll have me on a TV show grabbing a chick by the leg and saying 'noooooooooooooooooooooo! don't take them!! I NEED them!'..
