Chicken Removed My Contact Lens - Could Have Been My Eye

I'll move them in a few more days.

Since you were here I added a 20000 btu propane heater to the barn.
I think my little portable propane heater was in there when you saw it.
I set the thermostat to 50 degrees. The brooder has a heat lamp but
at 4 weeks and 50 degrees I don't think they will need it.

I've lost a contact lense to a bird too...But this was a different situation. I grabbed a rooster one time to put him in the coop and as he flapped his wings he somehow hit me just right in the eye and knocked my contact out. weird.

i have a had a chicken peck at my daughter's eye...it scared me and of course scared her so she is no longer allowed to be anywhere near the chickens when it's feeding time.

Glad you're okay!

Hen Annie likes to look into my eyes when she's sitting on my chair arm or my lap - I'll be giving myself an extra reminder not to let her get too good a look! Mostly I just worry about her and my cat Fossey. Fossey loves all living beings and harms nothing. She will go up to Annie innocently wanting to touch nose to beak but Annie gets this look like she's going to poke Fossey's eye out! So I hurredly intervene. Annie is just reacting to the shiny eye - she doesn't dislike Fossey in any way. Hoping there is never a calamity.
