your boy, he came from me, you bought him from a woman who had a pair but didnt want to sell the hen right? so the ones i have would be related to yours. i have 8 young ones they are 10/12 hatch if your interested in that age and dont care that they are related.

Yes he came from the lady who bought the pair from you a while ago. he is such a sweet little stinker too.
I dont care that the hen would be related, t doesnt effect non hatched eggs at all lol.

Are you going to westford this weekend?

i have a question about buying birds in the winter. if you buy a couple how do you quaranteen them and keep them warm? i have an interest in more silkie pullets but do not know what i would do to keep a couple warm this time of year. any suggestions? i have an insulated coop but would not want to put any new guys in there till i was sure they were ok. also, does anyone have any silkie pullets for sale? i am also looking for a frizzle pullet. i would like to attend the swap in jan but would have to figure out the housing in advance.

Housing pullets in the winter can be a chore if you dont want them inside,ie: mine usually are in the house, garage, cellar.
that way they stay warm and in quarenteen at the same time.
that way you can keep a light on them for warmth.

naturally husbandtry is a major concern, smell , wastes etc, I change cage bottoms ever other day to keep smell to a minimum.

I also have a husband who doesnt care where they are as long as he doesnt lose any money on them lol. yeah he is weird.

i could keep some in the garage. how many would you suggest to be able to keep ea other warm without a light. i bought 3 playhouses to make into coops next spring. they are of course in the garage in boxes. hum.... honey i need you to build lol... my guy is easy going too. as long as he has the tv remote he is just fine.

As long as they are fully feathered out you can keep a minimum of 4 together with out a light and they will stay more than warm enough. I have 2 silkys, a wyndot cross and an I dont know what she is bantam together tight now that are doing just fine, remember that silky feathering is a natural insulator , whats funny to see is the little bantam something snuggled up and under a silky chick. lol

Oh thank you so much for giving me the update, I am happy that she has a nice new home.
I felt bad for her being the only little banty that hatched out and ended up being the only little one in a flock of standards.
She is such a sweet little thing too. I am glad everything is working out.

Is anyone going to the meet in Westford tomorrow, actually today I guess? I gotta go to bed, lol.
I am debating, I know its going to be COLD. Not sure about walking around that open field.
Just wondering if anyone is going to be there.
