hi, had a great day. It is always fun to see everyone and go out to eat at a new place.

we had 23 people set up. many of which sold out right away.
of course many of them put new stuff right in the same cages before they went home lol.
talked to many out of state people to explain that all you have to do to set up at a swap is call the department of agriculture to get an entry permit. one of our venders said it only took her 7 minutes to do this and part of the 7 minutes they spent talking about chickens.
if I understand correctly, the tests, papers or whatever that is required to come to NH would be the very same tests, papers or whatever that are required by the states of mass and maine to own chickens. therefore you all have them already.
the department of agriculture gives you the entry number over the phone then mails you the certificate. It is easy and fast!

Good seeing everyone today! I actually had a good sales day. If I remember I think I sold 9 birds. No, maybe 11. Now if I can only get these bators to hatch my remaining eggs because if not, I am calling it quitsville in chickenland! I came home to a spike of 104 with only a few days left on one hatch, so depressing.

Thanks Janet. I hope so too, it is getting more and more heartbreaking and aggravating. I cannot understand why a manufacturer continues to make an item so many have trouble with. Maybe because people like me that want to try hatching for the first time are eager and grab the first inexpensive bator they come across and this is our punishment. I hope any newbie researches all the feedback here and on other forums to see how un reliable the LG is. I have heard nothing but nightmares about it.

We had a good time today and the weather was fantastic. We didn't do too good on sales but its hard when the store is selling the same kind of chicks we have for a lot less. It's always good to talk to everyone though and see who has what. I only managed to bring one little one home today and thanks to Janet for the two dozen eggs.............lol. I hope these make it. I did put a new wafer in the hova bator. I am trying to get it stable now and hopefully put the eggs in in the morning. I had to order the wafers from Ebay. I couldn't find anyone around here that sells them. Darlene, I came home to 104 temps in one of the bators also. I am glad they are expensive eggs but you are right. It gets real discouaging losing the eggs, especially when they make it to lockdown and then don't hatch.
I think I counted 22 venders including some from out of state. Alot of them sold out early so there was no need to stick around. I saw a real nice set up for watering the birds, thanks ladies. I also got some more watering cups for the cages. I try to get a few every time I see them at the swaps. You can never have too many.
Hope to see everyone next weekend at Merrimack and Candia.

Hey nhnanna, my d'uccles may come oput as frizzles, if you are still interested in the eggys, the other day i went out there and found 6 eggs.

Cool. Yes I would be interested in anything frizzled. I love them.
How are the Millies doing?

doing great. i have not checked today to see how manys out there, but i think they are starting to lay everyday now.

Great Day folks,,, I ended up with a 8-week buff orpington from the same ladies I swapped with in Milford last time.
My kids had a blast but we were all a bit grossed out by the debeaked/half beaked reds.
Call me a liberal city boy but won't they stop pecking if they just aren't over crowded?
Anyways, we hit a huge yard sale in the downtown on the way out of Milford. Goodtimes...
