Recipe for the best chicken treats ever-

Tomatoes
Mealworms
Eggs shells (Optional, must be from the same flock that laid the eggs)


Step 1-
Empty tomatoes

step 2- Stuff tomatoes with mealworms and eggshells(Optional)

Step 3- Feed to flock!!!

Ingredients

2 bananas
15 cherry tomatoes
Scrambled egg with egg shells in it
Oats
Black berries
Meal worms
Oysters

Mix all together and then throw it all on a patch of grass.... they spend the whole day at it

2c scratch,
1 cup crumble,
1/2 c sunflower seeds,
1 cup old fashioned oats,
1/2 c wheat bran,
1/2 c oil,
1/2 c molasses,
three eggs....
I feed a nonlayer ration so I also tossed in about 1/2 c oyster shell (planning to leave out for nonlaying flocks). Baked at 325 for 30 minutes but the thicker round one (was stuffing last bit of mix in that one, lol) probably needed a little longer as it feels slightly soft.

For treats I usually put -
-Cereal
-Strawberries
-and Watermelon in a bowl, the chooks love it!

2- oyster shells or crushed egg shells (*optional)
3- starter feed
4- grassy greens!

I do all kinds of combinations. A fav amongst them is cottage cheese mixed with scratch, bird seed, a few fruits (mine especially like watermelon, cantaloupe, berries and bananas) chopped, and a small amount of baby food fruit or applesauce. They also LOVE their greens daily. I pick grass and weeds for them as they are enclosed in a run. They also love fruits and/or veggies mixed in plain yogurt. And on and on . .. .
