Chicken unable to stand and lethargic

Ooh thanks for letting me know about negative impact between the vitamins and Amprolium. I’ll avoid the vitamins when I start medicating her.

She is still drinking water but less so than yesterday. We only gave her fresh water today though as we didn’t want to give her too many vitamins and harm her that way.

I’m not sure if she’s laid an egg yet, but some of our Orpington’s have started to lay. She hasn’t laid one in the past few days for sure as we’ve kept her separate and we’ve not seen an egg :(

Thank you for the support! Yes, they are definitely lovely creatures, but it’s always difficult when something like this happens and you’re stuck googling for hours for a fix 😭 I thought she might have gapeworm initially but now I don’t think she does!

Here’s a picture of her looking really angry in her isolation area 😂

give it lime juice to help her build her immunity system stronger

Thanks! She’s looking a lot better than in the first few pictures now, but I’ll try giving her some garlic and onion.

Will the lime feather encourage her to eat as she’s still eating very little? And will lemons work instead of lime?
yea the feather is to help her throat. us mexican give lime juice garlic and onion to sick chickens and it helps

I felt her crop just now before dark and it’s about the size of a ping pong ball, perhaps a bit smaller and it’s rather hard? Still squishable but a lot harder than what it was a few days ago. Could this be a crop issue instead?

Raising chickens is so stressful!

the crop feels more swollen than usual, but swelling goes down overnight. ABNORMAL: the crop feels hard and the swelling does not go down overnight. This could signal a crop impaction, which means food or other fibrous material such as straw is stuck in the crop.

How do I clear an impacted crop?
Emptying a chicken's crop is a two person job, you will need to turn the bird upside down to empty the crop through the beak. First, pour either Liquid Paraffin or warm water with a couple of teaspoons of Olive Oil down the throat and massage the crop for 5 minutes. When your hen is egg bound, your hen may appear weak, show no interest in moving or eating, have a “panting” respiratory rate, and may have some abdominal straining. One or both legs may appear lame due to the egg pressing on the nerves in the pelvis. hope this helps

She did pant a week ago but hasn’t panted since. I don’t think she is egg bound as we inserted a finger in her vent and didn’t feel anything. There was an odd lump in the bottom left but I’m not too sure what it was. It didn’t feel blocked though.
