CHICKEN WITH BLACKHEAD DISEASE please help !!

Ok. It killed my turkey tho- and they have all the symptoms. Can this happen with worms? I’ve never dealt with this before. Everything online says to worm them
You're correct. The cecal worm is host to the protozoa that causes Blackhead. The protozoa is deadly to turkey's, not so much in chickens. This is why chickens and turkey's should be kept at a distance from each other. They must be kept OFF THE SAME SOIL, penned a good distance away from each other and not allowed to free range together.
Safeguard liquid goat wormer or Valbazen will eliminate the cecal worms (carriers of the protozoa).
You will need to dose your chickens with Metronidazole to kill the protozoa. Then establish a monthly worming routine to eliminate the cecal worm lifecycle. Ending the cecal worms lifecycle will stop the protozoa from infecting your birds via cecal worms.

I feel bad only letting the chickens free range! But I’ll figure it out. Thank you so much

Todays update-
Olivia pooped a normal dropping yesterday, and crop feels better. Still off balance and lethargic.

Windy is still eating a ton, drinking, way less lethargic, and normal colored stool. We crop feels better too. She’s just a tiny bit lethargic now.

How long should I wait to put them back into the flock once better?

Not true. Treatment is fenbendazole, metronidazole & enrofloxacin.

Unless the treatment you mentioned is recent, I'm not sure one can argue with the FDA...? I mean, i believe you, but just saying. I don't have anything but metronidazole but I will start my hen on that. I already treated her with Safeguard for three days. I would have to order the enrofloxacin, and I'm not sure she will last long enough for me to treat her with that. I learned that Oregano Oil can be very effective as a treatment or preventative. I do have that and will add it to the flock's waterers as hopefully a preventative. I only have one sick hen, but i'm sure it's Blackhead or liver disease.
