Looking to see if anyone has any idea what’s going on with this bird. She’s a 3-4 month old silkie and somewhat recently we noticed that she can’t stop flicking her head. It’s not constant but it definitely causes her some issues. Click for the video.
Yes, it appears to go beyond the normal head twitching most chickens do all the time. The little sideways dip points to a neurological source, and Silkies seem to be predisposed to this.
Treat her with one vitamin E 400iu capsules (from the human vitamin aisle) directly into her beak once or twice a day until this is corrected. Give with egg or a sliver of selenium for better absorption.
