Is there a nasty rotten smell? Similarly to a rotting dead carcass or fish? Best thing to do is to squeeze the pus out and flush out the eye. It sounds like possible Infectious Coryza, a permanent lifelong chronic respiratory disease of chickens and other poultry. Keep a closed flock and do not sell or give any infected birds.

Oh, no. This isn't good. Pus is a promise of infection; You ought to separate this chicken and bring it inside at once, maybe with a friend. You'll need an eye flush such as virbac, and to gently pry apart the lids to put in some drops. Do this once a day, and give an anti-coccoid. If it doesn't noticably improve within 2 days as a minor ailment will, you need to consult a vet as it's something serious that you can't fix on your own.

I forgot to add; a warm (not hot), wet tea bag held against the eye a few times a day will provide a lot of releif to your poor bird. Just plain tea with no flavors, preferably black tea.

I will use the black tea idea as I think he is in lots of pain! Thanks for the advice I will use it

🤣, im sory.. i cant with that word. I read it wrong EVERY time... His eye.. is it just crusty, or is it actually mucusy discharge, like an infection? The photo may be deceiving, but to me it appears to be an injury rather than an infection.
Yes I am pretty sure it is an injury though I think it might be infected

X2.
Now that I’ve recovered from the initial shock of what I thought I’d read....

Whether it's an injury, an infection, or both, you can squeeze a small ribbon of triple antibiotic ointment in his eye twice a day, but be sure it's NOT the one with pain relief in it. That one cannot be used opthalmically. So, plain triple antibiotic ointment twice a day for a few day
