Chicken without a tongue?

So one of my chicks has always been a strange little girl, always pecking everyone.
Yesterday she seemed to be "choaking" on a treat I gave the chicks, crumbled up bread
they have always done great with it as I crumble it into pieces the same size as their crumbles feed.
well she finally got it down on her own. I was told to check for legions in her mouth
and when I opened her mouth she don't have a tongue like the other chicks?

she has a bump that looks like he never had one grow. she don't have a scar of bleeding or anything like that.

these pictures suck because my phone sucks but
i know if i don't put one ppl going to be like show us a pic...lol

Do you guys think she will be ok? I never heard of a chicken without a tongue.
has anyone had one like this survive? shes only 3 weeks old right now.

If there's a way to get better photos it would be good.

Can you tell if she's swallowed her tongue? I remember one time someone had a chick that seemed to be missing the tongue, but finally they were able to see the chick had a string or piece of hair wrapped around the tongue and when the chick swallowed that it pulled the tongue with it. Once the string/hair was removed all went back to normal.

It could be she just never had a tongue develop as well. I'm just not sure!

This is not the case. she don't have a tongue at all. its like it was never there.

Well, the tongue may never have developed.
I think all you can do is wait and see how it goes. She may do very well but struggle to eat certain things like the bread you gave. She may need to have wet feed to eat and limit the types of treats she eats.
Personally, I'm not a fan of giving bread as a treat, I may every once in a while, like twice a year if I find I have toooo much bread but if I do give bread it's a very small amount and crumbled finely.

the wet food seems to be a hit with all the chicks. they acting like they never ate before. she seems to be eating ok. i guess i can keep them on crumbles. I was going to switch to
pellets but tbh I don't think she could eat one because how big they are.

What do you normally feed - all flock/flock raiser pellets? Those can be soaked and fed wet too, pellets will break down in a mash, just soak them for at least 30 minutes or so.
I would keep them on either chick starter or all flock/flock raiser at least until they come into lay.

they are on medicated starter pellets and i have all flock for my bigger birds. but my bigger birds(3 months old) are eating it but not much. they will eat starter alot but i think they don't like the crumbles. thats why i was going to switch. but they will have to deal with it.

Oh, they can be picky at times, go figure LOL

My adults will eat all the chick starter they can find if they have access to it LOL
