I know it's always difficult to get back in the swing after you've suffered a loss, but I hope you can soon open your heart again to another flock of your own. Maybe possibly you could just build a bigger run to keep them safe during the day? Using the deep litter method or keeping a small compost pile can offer them some happy hours of entertainment and scratching while being contained. Here's a couple links you may find helpful:

I have also lost chickens during free ranging to foxes
Try keeping them in a run for the first few weeks then slowly let them out when you are home
