Hi there, my first 10 week old chickens absolutely will NOT stay out of my bird feeding area. I don't have a run yet, so I let them free range all day. Of course they are always in that area. So do I really have to be concerned about them contracting avian flu? Should I be afraid?
Thanks in advance, Kristy

You're feeding wild birds? Do you just toss the food on the ground or is it in hanging feeders? What kind of seed are you feeding?

The chickens will only get avian flu if the wild birds have avian flu. But they could get other diseases/parasites from the bird droppings, so I would recommend keeping the chickens away from the feeder. Either fence them off or move the feeder to where they can't reach it.

Oh what a pain in the butt, ok, thanks!!
