Ravyn, I was just thinking, not only is that a long trip for you, that was a long trip for the ducks and chicks too! How did you handle transporting them for that long? I mean, several cages, food/water, etc... Just curious in case I ever find any that I want to drive that far for.

Trip wasn't too bad for them... we took several carriers and one huge one so they weren't crowded...
Lady Grey and Crash went with so LG could meet her human grandma, lol... they drank water every stop, but on way back I couldn't get the new ones to drink... food is a non issue on trips, water is more important... worry about food if it's going to be longer than a day...
As soon as we got home I set up a kiddie pool, food and water and released them into their pen... all went well...

He's gorgeous!!

He was a surprise extra... have more pics, but I'll post them on the other thread... :)

No, they just cleaned it out and wrapped it. Thanks for asking. These are silkies, and I know they are ok in cold but not the best and some will be young this winter, so I thought I'd try wrapping the run this first winter.
Ok, I was wondering about just using staples. So thank you. I will look that up. The roof of the run is cheap corrugated plastic roofing panels, on a 6 inch slope. I was just going to put a cheap tarp over the panels for a little insulation and to keep it extra water proof.
oh that is good news! I see, yes silkies need extra protection!

Sally, turkey was smooth, of course

I know NOT if it was a deal or not, but they sure are gorgeous and he is keeping them until I process my meaties.

That doesn't sound like a bad price. I got $40 out of one Slate hen alone. She was about 6 months old.
