Chickens seem to be not well.

I just started raising my chickens. The first year came and went smoothly. I've noticed one or two of my gens behaving different. At first I just chalked it up to a very active few weeks with many changes in coop pecking order as well as a bit of hot weather. Upon closer inspection I have noticed watery eyes and a slight discharge from the nose. All are eating and drinking normally.
I was wondering if it is maybe just stress related and something that will pass on its own.

Watery eyes and nasal discharge is usually an indication of respiratory illness.

This mornings observations I believe are showing improvement. The eyes of two are clear, a very slight nasal discharge. A third has one watery eye and no nasal discharge. I put ointment in the one eye. Other than electrolytes and probiotics, this is all I am giving them. All the flock are eating and drinking as normal. I am really wondering if stress is playing a big role. We have added new chicks, have had to deal with predators, laying has dropped to minimal with my mixture hens as I'm sure the pecking order is unbalanced as well. I'm just trying to help them transition as best I can.

Stress can cause a flare-up of respiratory illnesses. Some chickens can be carriers viruses/illnesses for life and never show any symptoms at all until there is a "trigger" like stress, that will cause them to present with symptoms.

Drop in egg production and the symptoms you describe still points to respiratory illness like Infectious Bronchitis among others.

Thank you for the links you sent. Since all are eating and drinking well, no coughing or wheezing, no depression, or other symptoms, I'm will continue monitoring closely and work on keeping stress levels at a minimum.
