Hi, the other day I was watching my five chicken scratching around the back yard and noticed one was struggling to eat what I thought was a big fat worm, but I wasn't, I turned out to be a thick peice of silicon sealer about 4 inches long and as thick as a pencil, The chickens unearth a few things left behind by the person that built our house, I managed to grab it from the chicken before it ate it, thankfully!
If the chicken had eaten it, what would happen? And would I notice something wrong before it was too late, my chicken are part of my family and would do anything to save it.
Any help would be great.

To your chicken, the silicon sealant looked like a big fat worm and ate it. It's not digestable, probably wouldve been caught in her throat and never made it past her crop, definitely not past her gizzard. She wouldve choked, had impacted crop or gizzard eventually causing death from starvation.
