Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Charlie looks good in an orange collar of I do say so myself

What if the 'task' that I have for my dog isn't anything fancy like guarding, herding, etc, but just basic commands like sit, stay, leave it, lie down, heel?
OMG the EVOLUTION here
from 'can I keep the dog breeds that I like if I don't want to compete' to 'hello yes I would like to sign up for EVERY sport please'

I'm really looking forward to teaching the 'heel' command. My parents will probably (with my eager help, of course, but mostly them) be focusing on sit, stay, etc, more important commands, and I'd really like to have the dog do a good heel (at least for me). Any tips for that? I've already seen several different methods for teaching it so I'm super overwhelmed lol
this aged well
