I agree with the temp recommendation scale also. Just watch your chicks they will tell you. My 25 are a little over a week old. It has been very rainy and cold here, mid 40's during the day and wet. My brooder is mid 80's under the lights and upper 70's at the edges. They are all over it, never huddled under the lights and seem to sleep more toward the outside. I considered adding a 3rd lamp, but they haven't needed it yet. All are healthy and active and growing and changing daily
