Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Atalanta flicked her hand through the water, splashing Iris. "What about you? You said you had no siblings, if I remember rightly. Did you have anyone?" Her question was straightforward, slightly inconsiderate, probably, but she never liked toying with words.

Lucy leaned into the embrace, grateful for it and Victor's friendship. His words were light and comforting in her ear; how far she would let them affect her she wasn't quite sure. "Thank you," she murmured. She could feel his back, thin but strong beneath her nails, and was all too aware of the few steps necessary to end his life. Not that she would; certainly not. It shamed her to even be having that thought. But the last time she'd let anyone that physically close wasn't for comforting embraces.
Iris hesitated, before responding “No. I have no siblings. And my parents weren’t really the best. So yup, you’re right. No siblings. Kind of wish I had some to be honest.”

Victor doubted her thank you. He felt a strange feeling from her, one that didn’t want to care. And he didn’t feel comfortable with that. He pulled away, a bit more suspicious of his friend. Victor whispered “Would you like to hang out something.”

Atalanta floated along on her back, holding on the edge to keep her head up to listen as she did so. "Who raised you?" She asked.

Lucy felt him stiffen and she pulled away as well, resting her palms behind her against the table. "Like what?" She was frowning, not fully engaged with him as she was with her thoughts at the moment.

(Well Liam is still in the the gym getting dressed then he will be heading down to the lab me thinks. Harper is chilling in the gym, she has to be there to supervise Irine, but while she and Priam are sparring she is essentially open. Eliana is in her cell, but she is open. And Amara at the school is open, as well as Elijah. )
(I can. I'm starting to get a bit more free time. )

"Strange, but mildly interesting," Allen said. "Right?" He chuckled as he took his turn. At least, he found them interesting, in all their weirdness.

"Oh you're bad," Haley teased. "Here I was, going for the 'look on the bright side' point. I suppose for the ones you speak of, they will just have to search harder for a happiness to keep them alive here. Ryker clearly isn't going to let anyone go, especially the ones with buckets of complaints."

Alexis glanced behind her in time to see him get up and walk out. Without giving it a second thought, she slid out of her seat and hurried after him. Geez he had long strides. She caught up and, tugging at his sleeve before he had time to dismiss her, pulled him aside. "Dimitri," she snapped, "look at me." If she had been six inches taller she would have taken his face in her hands to better guide his attention. But she wasn't. So a snappy tone would have to do. She locked her gaze on his face before diving into what she had thought and planned to say to him should this happen.
"You can't pick what parts of a person to ... love—" she paused, shook her head and continued through in a quicker tone"—and what parts to not. It's all or nothing. Now, I don't know why, and your silent brooding certainly isn't helping, but I trust you. A lot. You're the only thing I've got to trust here, and because of that I'm going to do every dang thing in my power to keep it that way. I'm sorry about that, in the classroom. I didn't intend to hurt you, or embarrass you. That was me six years ago—I was a flirt, and a very inconsiderate one at that—before everything changed. Ya know? I didn't mean to let that side come up again. I didn't even know I had it in me. Apparently I still got it, but I don't like it, and you obviously don't either. For that, for you, I hope to change." She took a deep breath, ran her hand lightly down his arm. "I need you to know this, to know my reasons for my actions, even if you won't tell me the reasons for yours. It takes two, Dimitri. In any kind of relationship. But if it's just going to be one, so be it. I'd be sorely disappointed to lose the one thing I've got keeping me here." His face blurred more so than usual behind tears that wet her eyes. Heavens, she loved that face. She'd kiss it right now if she didn't worry about what he may think, considering her behavior just moments ago. She allowed her gaze to shift and looked down at the linoleum floor, looked away before she did something stupid, biting her lip anxiously as she waited for the impact of her words to sink in.
"Yes, definitely. "Ashton agreed. She took to looking at the board and visualized the next seven moves before actually committing to a move.

Dyrus grinned devilishly and said with amusement, "I thought you'd like that. I was wondering what you'd say. I was only teasing ya, come on. Let's shop before they think we're casing the place." He opened the door and stepped out.

Dimitri scowled at Alexis as she grabbed his arm. He was going to deprive her of his attention, but he felt her urgent gaze upon his face and aginst him better wishes, he looked down to meet it. As she spoke, he just stared at her with a blank expression. His silent brooding? Really? You need to pay attention to my nonverbal language then...... Oh, you trust me. How rich. How am I ever going to trust you? Aw, you didn't mean to hurt me.....but you did hurt me and apparently you're still very much a flirt. He thought bitterly to himself. When she stroked his arm, it took everything he had to not pull it away from her. He was flabbergasted by her next words. My actions are self-explanatory and yeah, it does take two. But apparently I'm the only one in this relationship. It seems you forgotyou were in one, for you were flirting like you were single. How dare you imply it was my fault! He thought angrily as he watched her look down. This was not the person he thought he knew. He collected himself enough to articulate, " I think we rushed into something you're obviously not ready for. I don't blame you completely, I rushed you into it. It seems you need to explore your options. I can't go around dismembering and disemboweling every male you flirt with. Perhaps we'll put our relationship on hold, until you get it out of your system. You have to want to change.... you can't just change because someone wants you to. Besides, if I really muttered, you never would have looked at him that way. But then, that's just me. The one who laid his heart bare, only so you could step all over it." He sighed softly and shook his head with regret.

Allen leaned down to nearly eye level with the board. He grinned, looking from her to the pieces. "Such concentration," he said, holding his breath. "She thinks. She breathes. She moves forward an inch. And she moves her piece!" He straightened up, the cheesy grin still plastered across his face.

Haley popped him lightly on the shoulder. "Whatever am I going to do with you?" She chuckled softly as she stepped out.

Rolling her eyes, Alexis threw her hands up in exasperation. Maybe she'd said all the wrong things to give him the impression he seemed to take from that, but at this point there were too many things going through her head to put them in proper order. "My heavens, you are incorrigible!" She dropped her voice, remembering classes were still going. "Dimitri, how can I explain in words that you'll understand that I didn't like myself that way now, or that way then. I regret that—" she waved a hand in the direction of the door, towards Ares "—I regret and regretted my behavior and I'm very much regretting this conversation!"
Another thought flashed through her mind which only added to the crap pile there already. Her tone came sharper than she meant, but at this point, she didn't much care. "And what kind of relationship is it if I'm not allowed to even glance at someone else if we were official?? " Past tense. She regretted saying it that way, yet present seemed just as wrong. Ugh! This was all coming out wrong.

Ashton glanced to Allen and snorted out a laugh. "It's a serious game. This isn't checkers young man." She joked.

"Love me for the unique individual I am?" Dyrus asked hopefully. He winked as he came around the front to hold out his hand for her. "Or not, it's your prerogative. But I do hope you choose love." He added with emphasis.

Dimitri blinked, then blinked again. He didn't have the words for her just then. So he just stared at her for a long drawn-out moment. "Then consider this regretful conversation over. You'd best get back in there, before you get in trouble. I wouldn't want to be a bad influence on you." He snarled as he turned to leave.
