Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Ashton glanced to Allen and snorted out a laugh. "It's a serious game. This isn't checkers young man." She joked.
~~~
"Love me for the unique individual I am?" Dyrus asked hopefully. He winked as he came around the front to hold out his hand for her. "Or not, it's your prerogative. But I do hope you choose love." He added with emphasis.
~~~
Dimitri blinked, then blinked again. He didn't have the words for her just then. So he just stared at her for a long drawn-out moment. "Then consider this regretful conversation over. You'd best get back in there, before you get in trouble. I wouldn't want to be a bad influence on you." He snarled as he turned to leave.
"And checkers isn't serious?" Allen was trying his best to distract her.

Haley blushed at his comment. When he came around for her, she took the proffered hand with a smile. "Oh you are unique, I'll give you that," she teased. She then added, "and yes. That does seem like the best choice."
• • •
Alexis huffed, turned to go before she said anything she would regret further. Her hand was on the door handle when a familiar voice called from down the hall.

"Oh, Dimitri! Just who I was looking for," Emily said. She waved once to get his attention as she neared. She looked to Alexis with a smile. "Did I interrupt something?"

Ashton scoffed, " Checkers in the child's game. How serious can that be? Not very, I assure you."
~~~
"Well since I'm fairly partial to that one too. It is the best choice. I can be quite biased where I'm concerned." Dyrus informed jokingly.
(I should be answering other people's posts, but you've sucked me in Silks. :lol: )
Dimitri stopped at his name and looked down the hallway. He half-heartedly waved back as Emily approached. At her question, he shook his head and said, "No, we were finished. So I suppose I'm in trouble again. "
Atalanta floated along on her back, holding on the edge to keep her head up to listen as she did so. "Who raised you?" She asked.
Lucy felt him stiffen and she pulled away as well, resting her palms behind her against the table. "Like what?" She was frowning, not fully engaged with him as she was with her thoughts at the moment.
Iris responded with a bit of a quiver “My Sister.” That was Iris’ one true fear. That Iris had made her sister an enemy. They left on a bad note.
Victor responded “I don’t know. Everything in here sucks. I might go out and take a walk. Want to come?”
Priam's goal with his chat wasn't distraction; he merely wanted to know something about her. Too late for that now. As she launched herself, he ducked smoothly, shooting out a leg with the hopes of tripping her on her landing. He was smirking, the movement exciting him and his tense muscles.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw his leg and took counter measures to keep out of his reach. Pushing off one hand harder to deviate her trajectory to the right of his leg. " Well, don't you look like the cat that ate the canary." She commented as she straightened to face him and noticed his smirking.
"So you're saying children can't be serious?" Allen was twisting her words, again, and enjoying it very much so.
Haley nodded in agreement. "Everyone's biased in so way or another," she said, grinning up at him.
( This whole situation has got me so tense :lol: )
Alexis didn't go in immediately. She let go of the handle and turned to see what the assistant principal wanted.
Emily sighed warily. "Not necessarily." She pulled a piece of paper from her skirt pocket and smoothed it out, then turned it so Dimitri could see. "I think you must have dropped this accidentally? I found it in the hall. You're not in trouble for it, but I'd like to caution you so you may stop before you do get in trouble. It's hard enough finding teachers willing to work here without the students causing petty trouble."
Alexis's eyes widened, the image sharpening in her sight as she slid her hand deep into her back pocket, searching. Oh great. She was really done for now with him.
Emily nodded for Dimitri to take the paper bearing a caricature of the history teacher; Dimitri's name scrawled in the bottom corner.
(I was saving this for later, but I wanted a little Emily action and this seemed like a good time ;) )
(She just said she had no siblings :lol: )
Atalanta looked perplexed, but only for a moment. She gathered her composure and looked to the girl curiously. "What happened to her?" She asked pointedly.
Lucy nodded, biting her lip as she looked up to meet his gaze. "But what about the wall? And the security cameras?" She asked.
Priam simply moved out of her path. He remained crouched, resting his forearm on his knee as he looked up at her. "No, not yet." He nodded briefly, his smirk fading when she called him on it. Taking a step back, he looked her up and down once more, looking for weakness, any sense of uncertainty.
(Everytime he says that 'ma petite' it reminds me of a set of paranormal fantasy/sci fy books that started out good but got to smutty for my tastes as they went on so I stopped reading them. But one of the characters, a french vampire called his lady friend that. Ok sorry went off topic there. )
"I could get some books for you if you want. I don't read much so you would have to tell me what to get." She trailed off and then swore under her breath when he asked her if something was wrong. He was too perceptive, he always seemed to pick up on her discomfort. Then again she had never been great when it comes to hiding emotions. "No you didn't do anything wrong. I just, I want to be here for you, I've made my mind up not to leave but I feel useless. I am not used to being passive, doing nothing. I just feel like I have to do something or I don't know. It probably makes no sense." She jolted up and paced back in forth in front of the bed while she ranted. She needed to move her feet, it helped her think, almost as much as hitting something.
Adrian put his arm around her as she snuggled into his side. "I don't know about love kitten, sounds a bit I dunno weird. You would have to show me then the kind of petting you like because I don't want to get bit." He said with a chuckle, he had always been a cat person, go figure his girlfriend would be a cat. "A horse and a cat, what a weird pair we make huh?" He said looking down at her.
( Jean-Claude and Anita Blake. I agree with you completely on that series. A shame too, it was really good.)
Leverett smiled gently and said, "You're not the one laid up. You don't have to feel obligated to stay by my side, Layla. I wouldn't want you to feel that way. Go get some proper rest, you'll make yourself sick if you don't take care of yourself. " He made a soft sound and gave her a sympathetic look. "I'll be alright, honest." He encourage further. He couldn't help but to feel responsible for her obvious discomfort.
Willow looked up at Adrian's question and answered, "Not really, technically horses and barn cats have always had symbiotic relationship. You see, the mice eat the horse's grain and the cat eats the mice."
(Ugh let me fix that I need to go back and check her history again.)
Victor held her gaze as well, hoping she would say yes. Time alone with her would be nice. He responded “There are birds that fly around here all the time. Come on, it’ll be relaxing.”
