Ryker ended he call and turned to face a waiting Madison. "The teams are closing in on the targets. The sent trail is only a day old. I'm certain we can get Anuerin back to the Island and head out to rendezvous with them before then." He stated as he walked to the plane.
"But Ryker, you need to see to your arm. At lest an x-ray or something. It could be broken. " Madison stated with heartfelt concern.
Ryker stopped and turned back to look at Madison. "Oh, I'm sorry. Are you a doctor? Because the way I remember it, you're not. I'll be fine, it's only a fracture. It can wait a bit longer. Now let's go! We're waiting precious seconds." He said as he hurried up the steps. "Richard, let's go! Back to Lord Laboratories. " He instructed as he settled in his comfortable seat by the window. He glanced back at his son momentarily, before looking out the window.
Madison settled in the seat across from Ryker's. She watched quietly as the pilot finished closing and locking the door into place before going back into the cockpit. When the engines fired up, she looked to Ryker's profile as he looked out the window. He wasn't himself for some reason. What was really going on with this whole situation. She wondered to herself.
Anuerin met the gaze of his father, he then looked away. Once, when he had been much younger he had looked up to the man, wanted to be exactly like him and didn't understand why people disgreed that what he was doing was wrong. He even thought all the pain his father made him to endure was for his good. That false image had been shattered the first time he hurt Amaryllis. He remembered, her face sweet and inocent, being instantly curropted by fear for the only parent figure in her life. She trusted him. How could someone betray such a pure, fragile soul? Anuerin had fought with his whole being to protect Amaryllis, but even in the pain the one thing she begged of Anuerin was that he not be angry with Ryker. She never wanted blood to be shed for her sake, but that is the one thing they disgree on.
