Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Emily bustled around her own office, looking through files and lists. So many lists. She had been adamant about having those lists, though, in order to have an easy way to find names and creatures. It was a pretty nifty system, what she had, and she was extremely grateful for it now. She flipped through the shifter list, shuddering slightly as she was reminded of what kind of dangerous animals they had here. A zoo full of lethal animals. She didn't often let it cross her mind, trying to focus on the people they were rather than the clawed animals they could be, but this incident brought it all to the light. Too real and too close. She shuddered, the image of the massive tiger unconscious in the hall.
She ran her finger down a page, nodding to herself with satisfaction when she confirmed that the tiger was Dimitri. She then went to his file. Thin, like most of them. She was allowed too little information on the students. Just enough, really, to keep her job running smoothly and questions at bay. But she had so many questions; only, she felt like no one else had answers either.
Recalling the deep teeth marks at Dimitri's throat, she pulled out a notepad and went back to her list of creatures to write down all the felines and canines.
Emily set the pen down and flexed her cramped fingers. She tore off the sheet of paper, now covered in hurried cursive, and shook it gently to dry all the ink. There was a scary large amount of fanged animals here. She poured herself a glass of water and downed the whole thing, then folded the sheet neatly and headed out. She needed to find Ares to see whether he had gotten anywhere and check in at the nurse's office.

Samantha entered the crowded lab, the scent of blood hitting her full on. The corner of her lips tugged into a smile as she looked for the source. To her disappointment, it wasn't Harper with the promised samples. She let the door fall hard behind her to announce her entrance.

When Ryker stepped out of the elevator, and looked over to his lab, his hand let loose the paper cup of coffee. "What the sam's hel...." He uttered before charging into the fray of chaos.
Samantha looked over to him. "Did I come at a bad time?" She asked innocently, glancing from him to the others at work. She was, however, smirking a bit. It was obviously a bad time, since there was clearly an emergency.

(Replied to Leverett and others)

Hearing the new voice, Anne jerked her head around, spilling a bottle of pills in her surprise. "What the..?" She set the bottle upright and hurried over. Wide eyed, she looked to Casey. "This is the same...same thing? Tiger?" She was trembling all over with fright as she went to fetch some pain relievers.

( @StarrNico )

(oh that's just dandy  Poor Anne's going to be packing her bags, thinking she failed  )
(Not to get too technical, as an example: AIDS is a nasty virus that cannot be killed by any means, only managed. How it behaves is the virus penetrates a red blood cell and hijacks that cell and changes it. So that when it divides, it's not replicating a red blood cell, but the virus. It also has the unique ability to mimic the bodies cells chemistry, in doing this, to essentially hides from your immune system. I have a client who has it. )

(Sweet, thanks for that tidbit :thumbsup Since the nurse doesn't have the necessary things to check for that, she's just going to load him up on pain relievers and something to [hopefully] bring the fever down. And my offer still stands: bring a doctor in ;) )

Ares kicked at the air in irritation. Of course, dumb luck, everyone from his previous class had already scurried off to their next or to the cafeteria. He returned to Dimitri's side and circled slowly around him, now considering who had done this. The way he was towered over the unconscious cat, one could easily suspect him. After all, leopard to tiger would be a fair enough match, he thought, rather arrogantly. There was no way he could move the tiger, not alone at least. He decided it made the most sense to step right up to to the principal—or assistant; much prettier face—and bring the subject up.

Emily fished through the key ring in search of a particular one. Poor girl had lost her key and was in a state of near tears, worried about what would happen. Nothing, apparently, she found out immediately after bringing the subject up to Emily. "Here you go," Emily said, handing over the brass key. A quick thank you and a dip of the head and the girl scurried off. She stood and pushed the rolling chair away from her desk. Not yet 24 hours into her job and she'd already been all over the place on various things. She finally had a minute to herself to finish her coffee and eat the granola bar she'd found.
Her peace didn't last long.

Ares knocked on the door that he had been told was the assistant principals. The principal, Ioan, was nowhere to be found (*wink wink* @Run Wild ). "Miss Emily? You in there? There's an emergency that begs your attention," he called.

Emily stood, sighing heavily as she went to the door and opened it. She first asked "Is anyone dead?" just to clarify how much of an emergency this really was.

Ares shook his head, but not very convincingly. "No, not yet at least. I found a tiger unconscious in a hall."

Emily's mind instantly went to the list she'd practically memorized before arriving here. Tiger...how many were there? She could only recall one, and that was Dimitri. She pushed past Ares and out into the hall. She had just talked to Dimitri, alive and well, minutes ago. "But what? How?" She furrowed her brow in confusion.

Ares shrugged then quickly stepped into line behind her. "I don't know. I just came across it a moment ago."

High heels were incredibly slowing. Emily stripped them off as she walked, leaving the navy blue shoes in a pile behind her. "Did you hear anything? See anyone?"
A shake of the head. Blast it!
(I'd say Ioan's face is very pretty :love :drool)

"Just a bit." Allen pinched his left thumb and pointer finger together for emphasis "Teeny little bit."

Haley looked over his shoulder in search of one. "Well then," she said quietly, drawing back to look him in the face, "I better give them something worth witnessing." Grinning, she pulled him forward by the edge of his sleeve and kissed him square on the mouth.
" Careful Lion. I might just break your thumb off, so you wont be able emphasize just a little bit, just the whole lot." Ashton stated with humor.

(Dang girl! She just went and got her some of that Dyrus! )
Dyrus's lips curved up in a contented smile as the kiss concluded. "My, my. Haley. I do so like it when you take what you want." He said with conviction. His eyes took in her lovely features and settled back upon her lips. "It let's me know I'm desirable. " He mused quietly.
