Chinese New Year Hatch/February 3 2011

Ok, it's official. I now have six eggs to set on Thursday. What time are we all setting them?

I could be wrong, but I don't think we're going to be quite so coordinated in our settings, because we know some folks are setting a day or two before, some time on, and some after the 13th due to the quick turnaround from the NYD Hatch. It's something to shoot for so we can hatch "for" Chinese New Year on 2/3/11.

I am SOOO hoping my eggs get here tomorrow so I can set them on Thursday morning.

If my eggs arrive tomorrow I can hatch along for the comadreship. Waiting for the shipped eggs so all are incubated at the same time for one big ol' hatch.

I got some local eggs from a lady that are mixed. She had an Austrolarp black rooster over some Red Sexlinks, a Dominique, a Barred Rock, a Easter Egger, a Ameraucana (pure), and some LG Cochin hens. I got 8 eggs from her. 1 is from her EE and 1 from her Ameraucana. I have no idea who the other 6 are from so they will be surprise chicks.

The shipped eggs from a fellow BYCer. He is sending me eggs produced from White Wyandotte Rooster over White Wyandotte hen (show quality birds), same rooster over BLR Wyandotte hens and a mix from his Ameraucana and a Wyandotte hen as a bonus egg.

This is my 2nd hatch experience and first time using a Brinsea Eco 20. Did the salt thingy with my hydrometer and it is 2% above the 75%. Cut the bottoms out of a styrafoam egg carton as I liked this tip. Got my sponges handy to help raise humidity on the lock down days. Hope I didn't miss anything.
