Chinese quail color variations!e

Could be. JaeG's seem to have a bit of a pale brown stripe to the center of the feathers and I can't see that on yours, but like you said it could be the lighting or something, she did get hers to pose perfectly for the photos after all ;)
My silver definitely doesn't have the brown in it

The first of the photos you've just added I can see white stripes along the back. I will try and get a photo of mine but they are all sleeping at the moment, maybe that will help them stay still though

So they weren't too happy about me turning the light on and being woken up, and really not happy when I stuck my hand in to get the pic so she/he isn't really that long and skinny looking :D

Please note: I did get pooped on from unhelpful finches while getting some half decent photos of the females.
Here's my normal silver from the side:

My camera likes to enhance colours that aren't really as bright as they seem sometimes. I'm still working on a better photo of the lighter silver.

The silver have the same pattern as the wild type but in grey and the lighter silver still shows the pattern but much lighter.

We haven't got red breasted, blue face, pearl, or whites here. I know combinations of colours/mutations are possible and that affects the patterns on their feathers. I love the blue face ones.

Most males should have the red on their tummy but the red breasteds have a lot more, right up to their chins and up into their wings, and they also have a different bib with a thicker band of black/grey and just a very thin white line under that.

This site shows some caramel females and a silver red breasted: http://button-quail.tripod.com/id4.html

I am trying to get a photo of a chick, female and male in each colour but it's a work in progress.

Here are what I call caramel (top) and cinnamon (bottom):

I've just looked at our normal boy and he has the lighter stripes down his back too. The cinnamon males have a lighter, solid brown back in comparison. I love all their different colours and I'd love a pair in each colour.

It might be your caramel we can't get over here actually, I think it's exclusive to your part of the world in fact! I saw it when I was obsessing over colours and what my chicks might be, so confusing though, especially when people have different names for the same colours, and then all the dilutes and combinations and mutations.... feel like I need a degree in genetics to understand it all!
I wonder if it's mostly your camera then, but it sure does make them all look very pretty! Here's another 3 of mine, wanna swap a white and a caramel? :gig

I would if I could!

I don't think my daughter would let me anyway  have you seen eyes like my boy before? I assume it's something to do with his colouring but they're quite creepy and gross

Oh yeah maybe they are slightly different then!
