Chocolate/Mauve Ameraucana color project~ BeakHouse

Good morning! I have four little cutes from ChookChick Chocolate/Mauve/Silkie AM that just hatched! I will be posting photos soon.

EdenCamp, you should PM ChookChick about eggs. She might be able to help you out.

LOL! Thank you. She mailed my and another local gal I "egged" on eggs Sat.

This was one of the threads showed up in my research. When starting to establish a flock I like to get right to scouting out another quality source or two for a diversified genetic "seed" bed if possible. I have SQ B/B/S Ameracauna eggs coming from another source. Peeps has NICE chocolate birds, and is a breeder in demand. If a good fit for blending, but not too close, bears checking out about eventually getting a few eggs started and a leg up for my own breeding program to go forward. With linebreeding, need outcrosses for vitality - but those outcrosses should have thier own attibutes to contribute. Otherwise, just reproducing someone elses work and can interbreed yourself into a corner by not looking "forward".

Are those Beakhouse chicks?

Well duhhhhh of course they are!
Would be my guess on colors - looking forward to seeing how yours grow.
A month ahead view is so cool!

4 /of 6 or 12?
Share your hatch info would ya?
I'm using a broody but my friend will be using a bator.
10 eggs 3 clears. 5 hatched, one doesn't look it is going to make it and is still in the incubator. I usually run about 50% on shipped hatches. I have a Brinsea 20 ECO with Autoturner.
These are all the eggs/chicks from ChookChick Choc/Mauve project eggs that I won from the Easter Hatch-a-long. I am so grateful to her for donating the price! I don't know the genetics, but I would think maybe we could have a Chocolate or Mauve Splash? I love to take photos of my chicks so I will be sure to post more as they start to feather out.

As related to me, yes, mauve splashes are a possiblity - I'd LOVE to see how that turns out.
Silkied also? If so they'll go through a WILD feather stage before going fuzzy.
There's a HUGE thread I'm still working through on the silkied part - "Whats wrong with these feathers" or something like that.

But absolutely would love to see frequent pictures.

What color is the puny one?

it pulls through.
