Oh I know... I have three coronation Sussex hens doing absolutely nothing... but they are so big and fat that whenever I look at them I say to myself, look at them! They could be meat chickens! How productive!

Of course they won't be eaten, those ones are pets. They are everybody's favorite chickens. We call them the pillow chickens.
 
There is some of the Australian Coronation Sussex in my Konza project line and they are just HUGE. The hens go broody fairly reliably and yet don't seem to have great successes...have you experienced that, too?
 
Mine have not gone broody yet. I'm not breeding them, it was one of those "how cool let's go get a couple" moments, and I ended up with three hens. The breeder said they are the greenfire farms line.
