Wanna move here?

Wow! I drive diesel so does my husband. He idles his in the morning for 2-10 minuets before going to work. But lucky for us we're in the country and I love all my neighbors... sigh... why can't people get along? He's a jerk and idleing your truck like that is.... stupid unless its 20+ years old. My husbands is a 2005 and I don't think its necessary to idle uless its under 30°. But... he doesn't listen to me!

men ya know. I drive a oooold 1995 6.5 diesel suburban I start it up and wait a few seconds and go! Its in the garage always but I never idle it unless its cold out... really people!

So what's with his cats and your chickens??
I'm a diesel 'fanatic' so my DH says... what's he drive? Ford? Cummins??
ETA... ahhh its a ford... well maybe that's the problem... might be a hard start. My sisters truck has injector problems and she has to let it idle for a while just to get it to run good...

I know the laws are different in each state.. but in my town there is a by-law... NO IDLING AT ALL!!!! the ambulance even has to shut down while at the hospital... but not at the accident scene... transit buses have to shut down at the terminal while they are waiting to get on schedule... right down to the small little toyota... and its strictly enforced...

Duramaxgirl - i don't want to talk too much about the cat vs chicken fiasco. i yapped about that on another thread and the chat veered off in another direction and the thread got shut down. But basically, i took one of their cats to Animal Control. This was after a long history of torment and damage to my flock. i made sure AC had their names and information so they would be quickly contacted to retrieve their cat. But they had to pay a fine to get her out. Animal Control actually recommended i do this when i called them to complain about the situation. Anyhow, since then, they are being very vindictive. We ignored the loud drunken beer party, with one of their friends yelling as loud as she could at our house (remember i commented how close our houses are situated). We even ignored the daily extended idling. But the extreme engine revving today just pushed me over the edge. And it was very interesting that he admitted to doing it for revenge.

This situation has already deteriorated to a no win for both sides.

At this point the more you protest the worse it is going to get, just the nature of humans.

JMHO the best course would be to close your widow at night, or set the alarm to close before HE starts his vehicle, no fumes. Protect your animals from his kitties or this is just gonna go further south. Take the high road you are going to have live next to each other there is no changing that.

Look for a peaceful solution that everyone can live with, otherwise everyones behavior escalates to a more detrimental situation.

There is no winners here.

The cat issue led to a NFH situation.Unless what they are doing is illegal you can do nothihng.Perhaps you could sue for the health issues that it is causing.I have read many NFH threads, and those that go to court spend lots of time and money with little to show for it even when they win in court.

Next time just make the cats disappar.Close the windows.Move the coop.Ignore them.Last resort is move,or pray they do first.

Ah well I'm sorry for the whole situation. Wish you could move into the country like me my closest neighbors are over 500' away. My neighbors sometimes have wild partys to but they always seem to shut them down at 10pm.
Good luck!
