I can't believe it! This was set out with the trash. The bottom was broken off so the bottom drawer was out of it. It was soooo easy to fix. A little wood glue, two small nails and a brace til it's dry and now I have a beautiful chest of drawers to match my other quarter sawn oak set. I saw it last night on the curb just as the snow started to fall!! It would've ruined the wood. Im still in shock. I could never have afforded this at an antique store. What are people thinking?

There used to be a mirror, I believe, that was attached to the center. My hubby and I come across old wood all the time so we're keeping our eyes peeled and we'll try our hand at making a new one for it and I'll match the patina with stains and oils. ooooh....Im in happy la la land right now

For the life of me I don't know why people throw away such treasures of the past.

Beautiful find.

That is absolutely gorgeous!!! And the feet are so very interesting!

Great save!!!

Woo-Hoo! That looks like the find of a lifetime.

Great find, they probably threw it out to make room for their new particle board furniture.
