wow what a great find..

AWESOME! I live in a college town, so particle board furniture is all that's ever left at the curb here

yeah, the drawer broke and they said, well we can finally get rid of this old piece of crap and get that new dresser from Value City!

I always say things so quick without thinking. It has been known to get me in trouble

I didn't want to knock anyone who buys things from Value City and place like that. It is an affordable way to get furniture. I, myself, have a few things from there and swap things out as I get nicer stuff. But I would NEVER throw anything with value in the trash. We are thrifty people and I have some of the best yard sales in town. I think someone didn't even realize this was a treasure and I wonder what planet they are on not to know that.

I keep waiting to get a call from the police saying they want it back. It's so unbelievable but it does happen. We got our office desk (also quarter sawn oak) a few years ago curbside. Everyone comments on how lovely it is. It was almost black when we got it and it took a good cleaning...Now it is irreplacable.

when my mom lived in Philadelphia they would go out around 11pm the night before trash day, she furnished an apartment that way. This time of year is a big score, people redecorating for the holidays.

that is so pretty!!! i have had friends find great things being "thrown out" but i have never personally found a great find! i am feeling envious!!!
you made it look so beautiful!!!!

Right time, right place! We scored a beautiful wardrobe cabinet from the trash once. It was painted white, but when we removed all the old paint, it was beautiful mahogany with pull-down writing desk in it. Of course, we had to throw out the marijuana seeds we found inside it first, LOL.

It exactly matches one look and wood grain that my hubby got from his gramma...We have the mirror but ours does not have the glove drawers on top of it! Congrats!!!!!!
