Christmas Hatch

grats on hatch Stellekitten

Thanks! I'm so happy my first one went so well. I'm posting pics now.

The last one was the chick that was shrink wrapped and had ripped it's umbilical cord out from the wrong end. It took some cornstarch to save the baby, I'm sure it's still tired from the blood loss but it's eating-ish and drinking. It's taking a little longer to get used to things. It's still got some yuck in it's feathers so it isn't as fluffy. I have been qtip cleaning it every four to six hours so it doesn't get too cold at once.

oh so cute, I am so eggcited for you, mine should start by morning I am hoping

by hatch day I am running outta coffee lol

I hope they do good! That little black one just didn't make it. I think maybe the umbilical cord being pulled so hard is what did the baby in. Oh well, maybe next time.

Your chicks look cute and healthy. Sorry you lost the black one; always a disappointment when one dies. My serama chicks started to hatch this morning-two so far and seven to go. The frizzle hen's eggs are hatching and I sure hope one will be a frizzle (do not know the background of the rooster).

Chomping at the bit to get home and see what, and how many, hatched. Sure do hope all three frizzle serama eggs hatched. Three-It's rather hard to get used to chickens only being able to brood 4 to 6 eggs.

Fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed for good luck with both our hatches.

They will do something eventually. Some chicks are slower than others. I placed mine in lockdown and it the very next day they were hatching. I'm not sure what I did wrong. They showed up two or three days early. Lol
