great idea! Mocha and Cocoa - like those. They will be pullets.

I've been giving all my chickens food names to! Lol

EE's are Rocky Road (roo), Nugget, Tootsie Roll, Jelly Bean

Buff Orps are Omelette, Butters, Honey and Peaches

RIRs are Ginger and Cinnamon

you have cute names! I usually just pick a name that comes to mind but I figure with the dark brown, chocolate names would be cute.

I do. They are very docile and mellow. The one (Omelette) will sit on my lap or let me hold her and pet her. Ever since she was a little chick she would always jump right in my hand if I put it in the brooder box

They are so hard to tell apart though! My husband will ask me "so which one is Omelette?" And I will pick up each Orp and the one that doesn't freak out I will hold up and be like "This one!!"

Easter Egger laid an egg tonight but one of them knocked it out of the nest box and broke it big double yolker, beautiful olive green color. Why is it so sad losing eggs!! Lol. Got 3 laying now! It's like a chain reaction!!

cool! I know, I get disappointed if I don't get an egg now. My silkie will probably not lay soon, so I'll just have the one. Well, she might, she's probably 7 months or so.

I'm going to build a higher lip on the front of the nest boxes tomorrow so they can't fling out eggs anymore. Or fling out all the nesting material!
