70ish years ago, my Grandparents had a hen that laid several large eggs. This one was a record in Iowa for several years. They blew out the inside and let it dry. They then packed the egg and newspaper article in Cotton within a sturdy box. It has since been handed down to me. I keep it in the bottom of my Grandfather Clock for safety.
