City/Urban chick keepers/parents with electric fencing

Hi Newbie here,

I have a few question about electric fencing.

1.) Do any of you city chicken keepers have electric fencing?

2.) Do any of you with kids (human ones) have electric fencing? How does that work with kids? Does it only come on at night? Explain, I am confused about electric fencing and kids?

I'm not city or urban by any means, but do have electric fences. My kids grew up with them being on 24/7 to keep the horses in. If you're more comfortable you can turn them off when the kids are outside. Just remember to turn them back on at night. Kids will learn. Mine all did. When they were little, they were told to stay away from the fence because it would hurt them. They were scared enough of it to stay away. As they got older, they taught themselves. Every one of them (and their friends) have touched - on purpose - at some point or another, just to see what it would do. They found out and respect it. Of course, they will still sometimes talk some of their city friends into touching it....
