Cleaning out feeders/waterers

Rafter, I remember my mother using that in her laundry when I was a liitle girl. Two of my waterers are plastic and they grow green algae like crazy, I can't keep up with it. Just add it to the drinking water?

Yes, I just add it to the water. I put 1 to 2 drops per gallon. It sometimes comes out quickly, so I get 3 or 4 drops at times.
At 3 or 4 drops, the water will look a very pretty blue. That mixture will keep out algae better. I mainly use it so if I have one chicken, or any other animal, not feeling well, (and I don't catch it) they don't pass it to each other through the water.

DH told me his Dad used it when he was kid, & he has been using it ever since. (All 49 years).
It does stain whatever the concentrate touches...I have blue fingers all the time!!! Vinegar will take it off your hands pretty good.

well i clean mine out with water twice a day. . .i have chicks so thats why i'm so carefull. . . .. .. .i don't want them to catch a desiese!!!
