Now that this years group is setteling in they keep flying out of the run. We are now clipping wings before they get tossed back in but I did not realize how short feathers need to be trimmed to keep them from flying.

Some of them know to go back into the run before they get caught, but anyone caught gets clipped a little more until they aren't found outside the run. I would like to raise the height of the run fencin but the is not possible with the horses and goat.

When they all start laying in the boxes consistantly they will be allowed to free range every afternoon.

We caught them and clipped their 10 flight feathers on the right wing, all the way back. If they got caught (4 foot fence) out of the fenced area a 2nd time (only about 1/2 of them) we clipped the feathers on the other wing.

Haven't found one yet that's flown over with all 20 flight feathers clipped.
