Cloaca plugged - pictures in post

Pics
This is where I saw the blue skin. I thought it was blood pooling after sge was gone, because she was not bled out. But when I cut it, there was no blood. It was feces under the skin.

This the blue skin and swollen back side. At first I thought it was blood pooling under the skin because she was not bled out. But when I cut there was no blood at all, just feces.

The tail end is on the bottom of this picture and what is the place of the cloaca is on the left side of the loop of bowel. That’s all poop around it. I cut the cloaca at the end of the bowel to make sure it would not spill. So on this picture I already tied on knot on it and it was put on the side.

On the left side that pinkish tissue is the oviduct. Half of it is soiled with poop. The cheezy rubbery stuff is inside the body cavity and it is the same stuff I kept removing from her cloaka when I soaked her in water.

This picture shows the size of the lash eggs I removed from the oviduct.

I don’t know about the black spots on the gizzard and the spleen and also there are some on the bowel too.

Poor thing! She did the best that she could to be healthy & you did a great job of trying to help her. There was absolutely no way to overcome the primary problem, any of the resulting additional issues or the infection that must surely have been raging inside of her. That colon looks to be full of waste, blocked and that dark color makes me wonder if the tissue had turned necrotic & started leeching toxins & bacteria all thru her. The lash eggs & cheesy substance could be related, caused by infection or just an additional issue going on at the same time.

I'm glad that you had as much time together as you did & that she knew how much you loved her. The fact that she fought so long to stay tells you that she loved you too.

Thanks for sharing the pics & her story.

I'm very impressed that she held on that long honestly. That, to me, looks like a pretty bad infection and blockage. I wouldn't think from lash eggs though. That looks to me like there was a more severe blockage and her pushing may have caused a perforation that caused infection way back when you first caught it. Nothing you could do in other words. Bowels are delicate things.

I agree with @BarredRockMom . The fact that she held on so long is miraculous and proof of how hard you tried.
