Just an FYI....all dogs are the same species. I'll reiterate what I've said before. It's the owner's fault, plain and simple. The owner of this dog is not living up to his or her end of the bargain when they decided to get a dog. It's the owner's responsibility to keep the dog contained and train it. It's the owner's responsibility if this dog harms someone or ends up getting shot as a stay dog.

Exactly!

I told one of my friends about getting a pellet gun, and she said I could practice with any of their guns. They are avid hunters, so after my class at school tomorrow, I am going over & learn how to shoot a gun, the day before my 49th birthday.

And on a happier note, Our roo Owl, did the naughty dance with Sweet Pea our EE, so maybe next week, I might get a blue or green egg.
It seems when Owl does the dance, the hen will lay about a week later, now because Owl is a GLW, will that change the color of the shell that my EE lays?
From what I read about crossing a Maran roo & a EE hen, you get the olive eggs, so I wondered about a GLW & a EE?

Thank you everyone for your input & support in this dog issue. Now that I can actually try different guns, I can make a better informed decision about the safest avenue for our family (children, dogs & chickens).

I must say, when I saw the title of this thread, I was a bit miffed. You see, I own pits and I am a big advocate of the breed, they ate great dogs, but they are no joke and their tolerance for pain is impressive to the point of worrisome when you say you may go with a bb gun. A bbq'd gun is not going to do anything but bring the dogs attention to you or whoever he thinks poop him with it. These dogs are big and strong (when my vet used to give the nasal injection of the bordatella vaccine I had to tell them to have at least 3 people to hold her down, she wouldn't bite or become aggresive, she just wants to get away... She usually did.) Moat states have livestock and stray/aggresive dog laws that allow you to shoot, kill or seize any dog witnessed in killing or maiming livestock or attacking a human, I may have a link to a site where you could look your state up, but I would have to check.

If your sherriff or animal control or game worsen isn't helping please take matters into your own hands.

Again, let's veer away from debating the breed. Please, let's don't do that. ANY large, strong and aggressive dog can be very dangerous. If we get into the usual pitbull debate, this thread won't be long for the forum.
