clothes smell musty... how can I resolve this issue?

I don't know if this would help but something that can be used to get rid of skunk smell from dogs is a combo of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.

Might be worth a try. I think I will give it a try on a dog bed now that I thought about it.

My malamute got skunked too

load is back in.. has been for an hour...

I used arm and hammer laundry with baking soda (like I always have)
about 2 cups of white vinegar in the pre was cup
about 1 cup of borax sprinkled right in the tub (front loader)

1 cap full of downey fabric softener.. as I always have..

I just went down to fold a load and my basement smells like a french fries cause all the vinegar.

BUT no musty odors as where before I would smell the ickkyness as they were washing.

hold tight only a few more hours to go to see if we won the battle!

Try putting the clothes in the dryer on high with a couple of good smelling dryer sheets. Sometimes during the summer the stuff we hang to dry doesn't dry quickly enough with the humidity so I've been throwing stuff in the dryer with those scented sheets and it worked very well.

Scented dryer sheets/fabric softener sheets? Also, after you wash them, if they sit wet in the washing machine for a couple of hours before you put them in the dyer, this will make your clothes smell musty too. Happened a few times in my house.
