This thread seems to have been deserted so I hope I’m not breaking a BYC rule in “bumping” a thread…? I just don’t have a designated thread for my hens so I have to use someone’s chat thread to share!

Oh, don't worry about it! I've seen meaning to bring this thread back up but just kept forgetting! I don't care of anyone else decides to, in fact it's a reminder for me to keep up with it!

Lyd went to the optometrist and got glasses today (so did Rose but I don’t have a picture of her). The glasses came from Murray McMurray and cost $7 total. I put them on without the pliers because I was too afraid of poking her eye. After a few attempts I got them on and immediately gave each hen a helping of their favorite food. They quickly forgot about their specs and seem to be doing well. They have to stay inside because of the snow so the peepers will hopefully minimize their ability to bully Minna.

Now I've been reminded let's do a bit of an update!

Bubba went to his new home recently! Ofc a little sad to see him go but can't keep every baby unfortunately

After he went I've had to milk Hazel a few times. I haven't milked in years and never really expected to milk Hazel, but she has been extremely well behaved for a first timer!

Oh, there's also quite a few new silkie additions! 3 Showgirls (suspect two cockerels and a pullet at this point) and 3 beautiful hens.
I'm up to 11 silkies now

Been a bit...
Just need to dump some chicken pictures! As well as some other random stuff
One of the three pullets I'm keeping (a mixed breed).

I have three broodies crammed in the same nest I'm going to be splitting them up as the eggs are due soon.

One of the quail successfully brooded and hatched two babies! They've been both practicing their flying.

Her name was Mocha! She passed away a year after we got her. The vet said her intestines ruptured. She was my favorite
