So, I'm working on a "chicken breed quiz" BYC article, and need some pictures. I have kept many chicken breeds, but didn't take pictures of them in the past, and definitely not good ones. I was wondering if I could use some of yours, @Starburst, and give you credit? (Maybe you too, @Sapphire Sebright?) You have beautiful pictures!

Hey, everyone! Today has brought beautiful blue skies, cool temperatures, thick frost, and happy chickens!
I let the girls out to free-range, and they spent quite a bit of time enjoying picking through the leaves on the forest floor and the small treat of scratch. The temperature has been lingering at around 27 Fahrenheit, and poor Boba seemed to not be enjoying the cold at all - The sweet, fluffy hen was fluffed up and shivering slightly. I brought her into the house to warm up by the fire for a bit, and after a while of that she seemed warm and floofy! (Now I wish I got pictures of her sitting in the basket by the fire - oh well. )

One thing that I found that amazed me today was this pot of beautiful white flowers that started blooming today. I found this rather astonishing, as before it had simply been tall, dry, brown stalks, and I thought the plant was dead. But now, when it’s in the cold, frigid air, the white blossoms burst forth. It seemed to almost be saying - ”Don’t give up hope! Even if the world seems dark, cold, and unwelcoming - keep trying!”

And now - enough plants! Chicken time!

(Yeah...Jasmine was kind of stealing the spotlight today. )

Annnd...Minnie, even though she’s been running around like crazy all day and all of her pictures turned out blurry, she wanted to say hi.

Again you have out done yourself, stunning photos!! Glad you were able to get Boba warmed up, sometimes they need a blast of heat. Especially Silkies who are not really designed for cold climates. Gorgeous photos!!
