Glad you and your flock got to see some sun and outdoor time Lucy!Hello, everyone!
These past few days have been rain, rain, rain - No surprise there! But, the sun did pop out yesterday for a few minutes, and I soaked it all up. Well, I shared a tiny bit with the chickens, but I’m guilty as charged - I’m a sun hogger.
Okay, all silliness aside, I let the chickens out to free-range yesterday for a bit under very strict supervision, and they certainly enjoyed it! They were running around in the grass, chasing mealworms, and flinging leaves into the air like confetti.Well, all of them, that is, except Mochi. She’s gone broody for the first time, and she’s very protective of her eggs. (Though, I think she could use a little more common sense of when’s a good time for hatching eggs. Cold, rainy weather isn’t that time in my book.
) However, I managed to coax her off her nest for some play time in the forest, and she very grumpily agreed.
Now I have the tough job of getting her to not be broody. (Oh, and yes, she is already getting muddy since her bath) *Sigh* But other than that, things have been pretty calm in the coop. A few treats here, some snuggles with the hens there. Plus some free-ranging on occasion. Anyway, some pictures:

I’m not sure. Maybe someday, but at the moment, I’m just working on raising my current little flock. Will you ever give her eggs?

Sounds like the sun was burning with a cold flame!Hello, Leyla! The sun was definitely nothing very and warm after the usual cold and rainy days, and my hens and I made sure to soak it all up.
Yay for the snow!
I hope your day is full of peace and joy.![]()
Yes, it was nice to see the bright ball in the sky and say, “Oh right, you actually exist!”Sounds like the sun was burning with a cold flame! But at least you know it exists.
We didn't get much snow, an inch or so. Just enough to make mud. I am sure the trees and grass appreciated it though!
Enjoy your evening Lucy!![]()
