Yeah, he (we were told was she, found out he was a he) got sick and died very young.

Why are you awake??
 
He was so sweet and so smart! I think he was easily the smartest cat we've ever had.

He learned within a couple days that when he had to go to the bathroom (he had to stay in a carrier a lot of the time for his own safety) he had to meow in there, we'd let him out, he'd go to the door, meow to be let outside, go out into the grass to the same spot I taught him to go in, then he'd come back up and mew to be let into the carrier again!
