Actually, I was under the impression that chickens decided issues of importance by following the clucking of the dominants in power and/or the cluckers with the loudest or most insistent cluck and/or crow, unless three or more low-ranking individuals gang up on someone and peck them into submission and/or death OR someone decides the sky is falling, in which case mob rule applies...
Oh crap, chickens are suited for American politics...not to mention news media and popular culture...![]()
I know most of those egg colors off the top of my head but wanted to add that, regardless of the variety, the breed's shell color will be the same. You guys wanna take the quiz or look at facts instead of talk politics? This is the Cluckmazing Fact thread....

whollycow!! Wish I knew more. I read everything I can. But right now I’m just trying to learn about my ladies.I know most of those egg colors off the top of my head but wanted to add that, regardless of the variety, the breed's shell color will be the same.
As an example, Black, White or Blue Jersey Giants will all lay a medium brown egg.
White Leghorns will lay a white egg but so will a Black, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Exchequer, Buff, Silver, Red, Black-Tailed Red, Columbian Leghorns all lay white eggs.
Breed is determined by characteristics like egg laying, size, shape, leg and skin color and demeanor. Variety only determines the color of the bird's feathers.
