My 2 year old golden comet is acting drunk. She has been mainly in the nesting area for the last 2 days so I thought she’d gone broody. Today I noticed she walks like she’s drunk. Watch the video below to see it for yourself. Warning, footage of poo!

What exactly have you beed feeding her?

Dumor layer feed with oyster shells and ocassionally some scratch and less occassionally some leftover fruits and veggies, oatmeal, or greek yogurt.

She looks like she's in rough shape. Stop all of the treats immediately and get her on a higher protein feed today. 20 0r 22% starter feed would be good.

Can you get some Nutri-Drench too?

I'd get some tuna fish and feed her a big spoon if it for a few days too.

That's not coccidiosis.. and there's no video. Though coccidiosis may occur when already compromised like that.

Is she eating or drinking? Get a feel of her crop and check it for function.

She may be experiencing something greater.. reproductive tumors, Marek's, etc. But I agree nutrition doesn't sound ideal for her genetic productivity level.

I have a hard time believing one of these ladies would be egg bound, but I'd still want to rule that out.. pooping probably does that.

Drunk behavior can also be caused by toxins. Her comb is seriously dark at the top also.

Did she molt this last fall/winter? What's her skin look like under her belly and below her vent?

Sorry you both are facing this. I hope you find answers and she recovers quickly! :fl
