Cochin Bantams and Frizzle Cochin Bantams!!

I disagree. I'm saying pullet. Nothing in that bird looks like a cockerel to me. This is my frizzle cockerel at 4 months.

Yeah, I see what you mean. It really looks like Snoodle just falls somewhere in between and there are good reasons to believe either way (except for the relatively definitive crowing, mating, and the definitely definitive egg laying). Only time will tell.

I'm very sure your bird is a pullet.

She (It, IDK) was very interested in a chick that my DS let go while we were transferring them back to the brooder this afternoon.
I guess I'm a little gun-shy about it b/c the pullet I've been waiting on (counting on) to start laying just mated with one of my laying hens. Marigold's new name is Marty-Boy. =(
I might put her in the brooder or the juvenile pen with the chicks and see how things go???

I already voiced my opinion on sex and this comment is not to further my opinion, but to state a possibility :). Some roosters will try to "mother" chicks.

Oh, yeah, now that you mention it, I've read that on another thread. Several ppl said that they had a hen go broody, then when the chicks were old enough, she went on with laying and brooding again and the rooster took over looking after them, protecting them from the other hens and finding them food and everything.
Ugh! That doesn't help. lol
I don't care; Snoodle is Snoodle, I just need to know whether I need a boy or a girl to get little snoodles. KWIM. =)

lol I am sure snoodle will reveal its true identity soon. What does KWIM stand for?

Ohhhh, ya I know what you mean lol

But wait I shall, and I have a lot of work to do in the meantime.
I have to build a coop and run for the chicks (which will become my DS's for his three chicks), then I've got to build a pen for Marty and Snoodle (be he girl, or be she boy lol), and then I've got to put my chicks from DS's coop/run into my juvenile pen, which is where Marty and Snoodle and Chocolate have been sleeping (Chocolate, for some reason, still lays in the main coop....wait, how long has it been since I got an egg in the coop from Chocolate.... uh-oh, she might be laying with Snoodle)....

I'll BRB; I've gotta go check my eggs.
